Conservatives are getting accountability for the attempt on Trump’s life
We can’t let the swamp get away with this.
It has been almost two weeks since the attempt on President Trump’s life in Butler, PA and it is well past time for accountability in Washington over what happened.
That’s what members of the House Freedom Caucus have been fighting for in Congress.
Thanks to the oversight efforts of dedicated conservatives on the House Oversight Committee like Rep. Michael Cloud, now-former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was publicly EXPOSED for the massive INCOMPETENT fraud that she was the day before she resigned in disgrace.
Later in the week, Freedom Caucus members on the House Judiciary committee grilled FBI Director Wray on the bureau’s actions before and after the assassination attempt.
Thanks to the questioning of members like Tom Tiffany, Andy Biggs, and Chip Roy, the American public gained vital information about the would-be assassin’s in-depth planning of the event.
We also learned that at least one FBI employee is currently under internal investigation for comments made about the assassination attempt.
But that isn’t all.
We also have to make sure that oversight efforts going forward actually hold the swamp accountable and don’t turn into another dog and pony show for the C-Span cameras.
That’s why the entire Freedom Caucus took a stand this week to make sure that radical progressive Democrat Bennie Thompson was kept off the Congressional task force on the butler shooting.
Thompson led the charge to strip President Trump of Secret Service protection back in April.
Even worse, he’s still DEFENDING his legislation to do so. He was one of Nancy Pelosi’s key players on the January 6th Committee witch hunt.
He CANNOT be allowed to derail and politicize this investigation with his rabid, unhinged hatred of President Trump.
Fortunately, after the Freedom Caucus took a stand, GOP leadership agreed.
What happened in Butler was the biggest failure of presidential security since the attempt on President Reagan’s life.
Congress cannot rest until the American people have absolutely all the facts about this disaster and we can know that every person responsible has been held responsible.
